Winter Home Maintenance Checklist

1) Repair malfunctioning windows and door locks.

2) Clean sediment build-up in shower heads and faucets.

3) Check and secure loose railings.

4) Test carbon monoxide and smoke detectors, install fresh batteries annually, and replace detectors every 5 years.

5) Drain your hot water heater tank twice a year to remove sediment and debris.

6) Professionally clean air ducts at least every other year to eliminate allergens.

7) Mulch perennials after the first hard freeze.

8) Ensure that outdoor lights are in working order.
